Kentucky Windage [2024] is instantly recognizable as part of Joseph Talerico’s few Motiograph appearances that have dominated cinemas and exhibition spaces since Talerico’s earlier works beginning in Mexico City, Mexico in 2019. Talerico’s gelatin silver slides followed a midwest and Kentucky tour with the southern improvisational musician Kelby Clark, each slide was steel framed. Clark controlled the buildings site sound via an hour long 7mm recording. The plates and motion picture images depict one of Talerico’s most original visual stories in his blindfolded-left hand draw approach to imagery. Talerico closed the show on September 7th with an original motion picture screening from the Motiograph.
